The school A. De Filis is a comprehensive school – it has an infant school, a primary school and a lower secondary school. The students are about 800. There are two main buildings: one is near the central station the other one is not that far from the other and it is situated in a central part of the town. As these areas of the town are very popular, there is a big concentration of foreign students. Our school curriculum is based on European skills, competences, the citizenship skills and music. In addition, our school has many different projects relating to Information, Technology and Communication, foreign languages certification (the school is a Cambridge Center), the web radio project. In the main building there are two computer labs and a creative atelier. In the second building there is a computer lab. The school became “Scuola 2.0” in the year 2013 and this characteristic is a relevant part of our training offer since that year. In addition, the school hosts different thematic training courses for teachers at national level. The Institute welcomes students with a very different background, social and cultural, coming from both central and suburban areas. The presence of pupils with Special Educational Needs represent a strength and a great resource for the school, which makes use of diversity as an enrichment of the educational offer. We would like to be involved in an Erasmus + project because we never participated to a European Project yet. The teaching community is ready to face this kind of challenge. All the people involved developed cooperative and social skills so that they look forward to working in a European team. We have specific addresses included in our learning offer, of value for the project: - The ArchiLab: Address provides for the strengthening of the logical-mathematical, technological and linguistic area of the students, investing in expanding the training offer in two laboratory hours with specific links to mathematics related to its use in everyday life and with in-depth linguistic connection with computer science. - The [email protected]: invests in the experience of the [email protected] with information technology laboratories dedicated to familiarizing the student with digital processes and with current devices and programs, and the production of multimedia material, maintaining the laboratories dedicated to strengthening the linguistic-expressive and logical computer area. -The Musical Course aims at boosting the student’s musical skills through instrumental practice, promoting in young people an artistic sensibility nourished by the practice, both individual and orchestral. The purposes of the musical course are: - Promoting the development of "musicality", indeed a unique way to communicate and express the universal language of music, through the practice and learning of the instrument. - Promoting artistic and cultural growth through the direct experience of ensemble music. (weekly ensemble music lessons, concerts and music competitions). - local advertising of this educational and artistic experience (through public representations in collaboration with local bodies and associations). The musical instruments played in our Institute's Musical Course are: PIANO, GUITAR, transverse FLUTE, CLARINET. The key staff is a project team: Stefania De Nardo, coordinator for the internationalization of the Institute. - She demonstrated excellent organizational and didactic capability. - She is in charge of the multicultural activities of our school. Our Head of administrative staff will manage the budget and administration of the project, while the Deputy Headmistress will replace the Headmistress in her absence.
